-15,876 available resident jobseekers were registered with ADEM on 30th November 2017. Over one year, this corresponds to a decrease of 896 people, or 5.3%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 5.8%.
The decline is particularly beneficial for jobseekers under 30 (-8.2%) and low-skilled jobseekers (-8.0%). The number of long-term unemployed decreased by 7.9%. On the other hand, the number of jobseekers aged 50 and over increased by 1.0% over one year, and the number of those who attended post-secondary education even increased by 2.8%.
The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure decreased by 2.4% over one year. Nevertheless, following the legislative changes in August 2017 there were significant variations in terms of vocational training courses (+85 beneficiaries over one year) and compensated temporary occupations (-117 beneficiaries over one year).
During the month of November 2017, employers declared 2,792 vacancies to ADEM, 18.4% more than in November 2016.
