The job classification database is used to match job vacancies with jobseeker profiles by using a common language between the two. This allows the employer to specify its requirements and to know what he/she is entitled to expect from a person wishing to practice this trade.
Like many other public employment services in Europe, ADEM has chosen the Operational Classification Database of Trades and Jobs (Répertoire Opérationnel des Métiers et des Emplois, ROME). It lists all trades and jobs, grouped by field of activity. Each reference corresponds to a set of competencies a person must possess of activities to be carried out in order to exercise this profession

In order to ensure an optimal and fast process of job offers, it is recommended that employers themselves identify their offers with the help of the ROME references and to complete it when declaring a vacancy.
