    The Economic Committee, chaired by the Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Dan Kersch, and the Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, reached an agreement on how to proceed with the reimbursement of short time working for the months of July to December 2020.

Compared to July 2020, this represents a decrease of 1,232 people (-6.2%) and compared to April 2020 a decrease of 1,728 people (-8.5%). However, over one year, this represents an increase of 20.5%. The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal variations, calculated by STATEC, stands at 6.4%.

  9. The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 19,762 on 31 July 2020. Over one year, this represents an increase of 4,094 people, i.e. 26.1%. Compared to the previous month, however, there was a very slight decrease (114 people, or 0.6%). The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, stands at 6.6%.
