Number of jobseekers is stable
The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 14,153 on 31 August 2022, similar to the previous month's figure. Compared to August 2021, this represents a decrease of 1,970 persons or 12.2%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 4.8%.

The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stands at 15,641 as of September 30, 2021. Compared to September 2020, this is a decrease of 2,234 or 12.5%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.5% and has herewith almost returned to its pre-crisis level.

ADEM informs that jobseekers who are unable to attend their counselling appointments at ADEM on Wednesday, 17 January 2024, due to weather conditions, will not face any sanctions.

18,625 jobseekers and an unemployment rate rising to 5.9%
The number of resident jobseekers available and registered with ADEM stood at 18,625 on 30 November 2024, an increase of 1,186 people (or 6.8%) compared to November 2023.

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 15,232 as of 30 November 2021. Compared to November 2020, this is a decrease of 2,927 people or 16.1%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.3%, i.e. below its pre-crisis level.

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 16,403 as on 31 December 2021. Compared to December 2020, this represents a decrease of 3,515 people or 17.6%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.2%, i.e. at the level it was at the beginning of 2019.

Access to the Luxembourg labour market for refugees from Ukraine
The EU member states have decided that refugees from Ukraine do not have to go through an asylum procedure and will directly receive temporary protection. For refugees coming to Luxembourg, this means that they do not need a special work permit and are immediately available for the labour market.

The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 15,801 as at 31 January 2023, an increase of 331 people (or 2.1%) compared to January 2022. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC was 4.9%, slightly higher than the previous month (4.8%).

Jobseeker registration with ADEM now also possible online
Jobseekers can now register with ADEM via the MyGuichet platform. ADEM is thus continuing the digitalisation of its services and at the same time offering an administrative simplification for jobseekers.
