As of 29 February 2020, 16,652 resident jobseekers were registered with ADEM. Compared to the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 1,144 people, or 7,4%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate determined by STATEC was 5.5% in February 2020.

The European Commission is conducting a public consultation on the EURES network. The consultation is addressed to all citizens and organisations concerned by cross-border worker mobility. Participation in the survey is open in the 24 EU languages until 23 June 2020.

Accord entre les partenaires sociaux concernant les modalités d’octroi du chômage partiel dans le cadre de la sortie de l’état de crise
Avec la fin de l’état de crise, les modalités d’urgence mises en place pour aider les entreprises par la voie d’un mécanisme spécial de chômage partiel « cas de force majeure Covid-19 » viendront à expiration. Il a été convenu lors de la réunion qu’il faut continuer à soutenir moyennant le chômage partiel les entreprises impactées par la crise sanitaire, tout en préservant un maximum d’emplois.

On June 30, 2020, 19,876 resident jobseekers were registered with ADEM. In one year, this corresponds to an increase of 4,839 people, or 32.2%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 7%.

Number of jobseekers increases by 26.1% over one year
The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 19,762 on 31 July 2020. Over one year, this represents an increase of 4,094 people, i.e. 26.1%. Compared to the previous month, however, there was a very slight decrease (114 people, or 0.6%). The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, stands at 6.6%.

The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 18.159 as of 30 November 2020. Compared to October 2020, this represents an increase of 188 people (1%). The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, stands at 6.3%, the same level as the previous month.

Unemployment remains stable at the beginning of the year
The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 19,882 on 31 January 2021, i.e. more or less the same as in December 2020. Compared to January 2020, this represents an increase of 3,386 people or 20.5%. The unemployment rate, corrected for seasonal variations, calculated by STATEC, is 6.4%.
