The law on the increase of the social minimum wage was published on 12 July 2019.
This increase is achieved in three steps:
- A first increase of 1.10% of the social minimum wage, already achieved by the law of 21 December 2018
- The introduction of the social minim wage tax credit (CISSM) with retroactive effect on January 1, 2019
- A second 0.9% increase in the social minimum wage with retroactive effect on January 1, 2019 (law of 12 July 2019)
The increase of the social minimum wage may affect financial aids granted by ADEM.
If necessary, ADEM will make the recovery as soon as possible.
The minimum wage, which affects about 70,000 people, now stands at around 2507.70 euros for skilled workers and 2089.75 euros for the unskilled.
