As of 30 September 2019, 14,692 resident jobseekers were registered with ADEM. This represents an increase of 110 persons, or 0.8%, compared to the previous year. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 5.3% in September 2019.
The number of jobseekers registered with ADEM who do not reside in Luxembourg was 2,389 as of 30 September 2019. This is a decrease of 10.1% compared to the same month last year.
During the month of September 2019, ADEM registered 3,112 new resident jobseekers - an increase of 25% compared to September last year. In addition, 605 registrations of non-resident jobseekers were made, an increase of 124.1% compared to September 2018. At the same time, there has been an increase of jobseekers departing from ADEM.
The number of participants in an employment measure was 4,164 as at 30 September 2019. Seen over one year, this represents a decrease of 81 persons or 2.0%.
In September 2019, employers reported a total of 3,407 job vacancies to ADEM, 173 or 5.3% more than in September 2018.
