As of 31 January 2020, 16,476 resident jobseekers were registered with ADEM. Compared to the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 1,319 people, or 8.7%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate determined by STATEC was 5.5% in January 2020.
As of 31 January 2020, the number of jobseekers registered with ADEM who are not resident in Luxembourg was 2,467. This is a decrease of 8.9% compared to January 2019.
On 31 January 2020, the number of participants in a labour market measure was 4,210. This is a decrease of 28 people, or 0.7%, compared to the same month of the previous year.
In January 2020, 2,883 new jobseeker files of residents were registered with ADEM. This is a decrease of 10.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. In addition, 653 new jobseekers’ registrations were made by non-residents, a decrease of 13.3% compared to January 2019.
During January 2020, Luxembourg employers declared a total of 4,401 job vacancies to ADEM; 899 jobs, or 25.7% more than in January 2019.
