The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM at 30 April 2023 was 15,330, an increase of 1,061 people (or 7.4%) compared to April 2022. This number of jobseekers is up for all registration durations except for those with a registration duration of more than 12 months.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 4.9%, the same as the previous month.
The number of new registrations of jobseekers is on the rise. In fact, 2138 residents registered with ADEM in April 2023, an increase of 46 people or 2.2% compared to April 2022. It should be noted that this month's new registrations include 52 registrations of beneficiaries of temporary protection (refugees from Ukraine).
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit rose by 885 people or 12.3% year-on-year to 8,053. The number of people participating in an employment measure stood at 4,218 and was below the level observed in April 2022 (-288 people, or -6.4%).
During April 2023, employers reported 2,972 vacancies to ADEM, a decrease of 28.1% compared to April 2022. This one-year decline in the number of reported job vacancies affects all sectors except manufacturing, transportation, warehousing and education.
The number of available positions is 9,936 as of April 30, 2023. The decline over one year is 21.7%.
