The number of registered unemployed residents at ADEM is 17,439 as of November 30, 2023, an increase of 2,817 individuals (or 19.3%) compared to November 2022.
This increase in the number of unemployed is observed across all durations of joblessness. The most qualified jobseekers (higher education graduates) and individuals under 30 experience the most significant increases.
In terms of professions, the most substantial increases are seen in construction (ROME category F), communication, media, and multimedia (category E), the financial and real estate sector (category C), industry (category H), information technology (category M18), accounting (M12), and business strategy (M17).
The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal variations and calculated by STATEC, is 5.7%.
The number of new registrations of unemployed residents is on the rise. In November 2023, 2,810 residents registered with ADEM, an increase of 191 individuals or 7.3% compared to November 2022. It is worth noting that new registrations this month include 92 registrations from beneficiaries of temporary protection (refugees from Ukraine).
The number of unemployed residents receiving unemployment benefits increased by 2,138 individuals or 29.2% over the year, reaching 9,463. The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stands at 4,212, slightly down from November 2022.
In November 2023, employers reported 2,553 vacant positions to ADEM, a decrease of 22% compared to November 2022.
The total number of available positions is 7,338 as of November 30, 2023. The decrease over the year is 40%. This decline mainly affects professions in business consulting (ROME category M14), information technology (category M18), transportation and logistics (category N), and construction (category F)."
