Work in Luxembourg: a new national portal to attract and support international talent

Luxembourg is equipping itself with new tools to boost its appeal on the international job market with the launch of the Work in Luxembourg portal and the Talent Desk. Developed in close collaboration between the Ministry of the Economy, the Ministry of Labour, ADEM, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Luxinnovation, these initiatives aim to attract, retain and develop the skills essential to the competitiveness and innovation of the Luxembourg economy.

Faced with a shortage of qualified candidates in many sectors, the portal positions itself as a single point of entry for international talent wishing to work and settle in Luxembourg, while supporting companies in their international recruitment efforts. It offers centralised, consistent and accessible information, and is directly linked to the ADEM's international recruitment platform. To date, the platform has nearly 11,000 candidates from around the world, pre-selected by ADEM.

The three main sections of the Work in Luxembourg portal

  • Work here
This section presents the Luxembourg labour market, key economic sectors, career opportunities and working conditions, to help talented individuals better understand the professional prospects available in Luxembourg.
  • Live here
Focusing on quality of life, this section provides information on everyday life in Luxembourg: housing, family, education, health, leisure and the multicultural environment, to support talented individuals and their families in their life plans.
  • Get started
This section brings together practical information on immigration, job hunting and settling in. It includes a relocation guide for talented individuals and an Employer Toolkit for companies recruiting internationally.

The Talent Desk: personalised support for talent and businesses

Complementing the Work in Luxembourg portal, the Talent Desk offers personalised support to international talent wishing to settle and work in Luxembourg. Located near the House of Entrepreneurship, it informs, advises and guides talent through the administrative and integration process, putting them in touch with the relevant institutions when necessary. The Talent Desk also supports Luxembourg companies in their international recruitment efforts, allowing them to focus on their activities while relying on shared tools and services. It thus helps to facilitate the reception and sustainable integration of talent and to strengthen Luxembourg's long-term attractiveness.
