The Employment Fund may grant a geographic mobility support under certain conditions.
Beneficiaries
Jobseekers residing in Luxembourg, registered with ADEM for at least 3 months and hired for a lasting employment, notified to ADEM by an employer based inside the territory of Luxembourg.
Terms & Conditions
The application must be submitted by the employee, on pain of ineligibility, within 4 months after the job being taken up. The travel allowance is granted for a maximum period of 18 months.
The employment contract must fulfill one of the following conditions:
- a full-time permanent employment contract;
- a part-time permanent employment contract for at least 16 hours per week with the same employer;
- a fixed-term employment contract for least 18 months with a regular minimum of 16 hours of work per week;
- a replacement for maternity or parental leave.

The distance will be determined by the distance calculator provided by the Administration du Cadastre et de la Topographie,
which is publicly accessible under https://distance.geoportal.lu .
You are entitled to a first payment of the allowance after an employment period of 4 months. The entitlement to the payment of a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th tranche is acquired after 8, 12, 15 and 18 months respectively.
