As of 28 February 2025, the number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 19,460, representing an increase of 1,294 individuals (+7.1%) compared to February 2024.
This rise primarily affects jobseekers who have been registered for 12 months or more, those over the age of 30, as well as the most highly qualified jobseekers (graduates of higher education).
Across different occupations, the most significant increases were recorded in road transport driving (ROME category N41), accounting (M12), IT (M18), culinary production (G16), and banking (C12).
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, as calculated by STATEC, stands at 5.9%.
The number of new resident registrations has seen a slight decline. In February 2025, a total of 2,512 residents registered with ADEM, marking a decrease of 42 individuals (-1.6%) compared to February 2024.
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits rose by 531 individuals (+5.2%) over the year, reaching 10,803 as of 28 February. Meanwhile, the number of people benefiting from an employment support measure remained stable at 4,429 compared to February 2024.
In February 2025, employers declared 3,482 job vacancies to ADEM, reflecting a 10.6% increase on the previous year. The construction sector (F16, F17) saw the most significant recent increases.
At the end of the month, the total number of available vacancies stood at 7,202 as of 28 February 2025, rising compared to the previous two months but showing a 6.8% decline compared to February 2024. This decrease primarily affected roles in accounting (ROME category M12), banking (C12), law (K19), and warehousing (N11).
