The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM and available for work stood at 18,903 on 31 March 2025, an increase of 1,249 people (or 7.1%) compared to March 2024.
This increase mainly concerns jobseekers who have been registered for 12 months or more, as well as the most highly qualified jobseekers (graduates of higher education).
At the occupational level, the largest increases are seen in accounting professions (ROME category M12), IT (M18), culinary production (G16), and road transport driving (N41).
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, stands at 5.9%.
The number of new resident registrations remains comparable to March 2024. In fact, 2,718 residents registered with ADEM in March 2025, a decrease of 13 people or 0.5% compared to March 2024.
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits increased by 275 people, or 2.7% year-on-year, reaching 10,348 on 31 March. The number of beneficiaries of an employment support measure stands at 4,479, similar to March 2024.
During March 2025, employers reported 3,354 job vacancies to ADEM, representing an increase of 7.1% compared to March 2024. The total number of available positions at the end of the month was 6,821 as of 31 March 2025, a decrease of 10.2% compared to March 2024. This decline mainly affects occupations in accounting (ROME category M12), banking (C12), and warehousing (N11).
