The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 18,596 as of 30 April 2025, an increase of 1,000 people (or 5.7%) compared to April 2024.
This increase mainly concerns jobseekers who have been registered for 12 months or more, jobseekers aged over 45, as well as the most highly qualified jobseekers (graduates of higher education).
In terms of occupations, the largest increases were observed in accounting jobs (ROME category M12) and road transport driving (N41).
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, as calculated by STATEC, stands at 6%.
The number of new resident registrations is declining. In April 2025, 2,379 residents registered with ADEM, representing a decrease of 157 people or 6.2% compared to April 2024.
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits fell by 25 people, or 0.2%, year-on-year, to reach 10,162 as of 30 April. The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stands at 4,556, similar to April 2024.
During April 2025, employers declared 3,577 job vacancies to ADEM, an increase of 6.3% compared to April 2024. Notably, there was an increase in demand for kitchen staff (ROME category G16) this month. The total number of vacancies at the end of the month stood at 7,200 on 30 April 2025, a decrease of 10.0% compared to April 2024.
