DuoDay 2026 : 11 jobseekers were referred to the Fonds du Logement.
ADEM is continuing its commitment to a more inclusive labour market with the 8th edition of DuoDay, an initiative that brings together businesses and people with disabilities.
As part of this initiative, on 26 June, the Housing Fund welcomed 11 jobseekers for a work experience day held at its headquarters in Luxembourg-Merl.
Launched in 2018, DuoDay is based on a simple principle: a company opens its doors to a person with a disability who, for one day, works in a ‘duo’ with a volunteer employee. This immersive experience enables them to take part in day-to-day work activities, discover a profession and a working environment, whilst showcasing their skills
A launch day centred on bringing people together
The launch event for this 8th edition took place in May at ADEM. On this occasion, participating companies and candidates were able to meet during a matching session to form the future pairs.
Around 200 people attended the event, which took place in the presence of the Minister for Labour, Marc Spautz, and the Minister for Family Affairs, Max Hahn. Both emphasised the importance of companies’ commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities.
A total of 17 employers took part in this latest edition of DuoDay.
The Fonds du Logement at the start
Among the participating organisations, the Fonds du Logement was one of the first to put this initiative into practice by welcoming 11 participants on 26 June for a day-long immersion programme across its various departments.
Following this day, three proposals for professional development work placements are currently under consideration.
This is not the first time the Fonds du Logement has taken part in DuoDay; quite the contrary: this year marks the third edition at the public body, given the success of previous editions, as Pauline Morel, human resources manager, explains: “Over the course of these events, this initiative has already borne fruit: several professional development placements have been set up following a DuoDay, and we have also had the pleasure of recruiting a colleague who discovered the Housing Fund thanks to this initiative.”
The day gave participants the opportunity to find out about the different roles and how the organisation works, whilst talking directly to staff and gaining an insight into their day-to-day working lives.
With each edition, the number of applicants accepted increases, which demonstrates just how valuable this initiative is. It is a wonderful opportunity for the Housing Fund, made possible thanks to the commitment of our staff and department managers, who always rise to the challenge.

Feedback from jobseekers has been unanimously positive. Among the aspects most appreciated are the quality of the welcome and the discussions – “The warm welcome I received, being able to talk to several people and find out about all the different areas of the accounts department” – as well as “the kindness and professionalism in general. Information was shared smoothly, which helps us to plan for the future more effectively.”
The other 16 participating companies will be organising their DuoDay over the coming weeks.
Raising awareness and promoting skills
Beyond the experience gained by the participants, DuoDay is a valuable tool for raising awareness. It enables companies to discover the skills of people with disabilities in a real-world context, whilst helping to change perceptions of disability in the workplace.
For participants, this day represents an opportunity to expand their network, build confidence and demonstrate their potential in a professional environment
DuoDay is a key part of our policy to connect jobseekers with employers. Initiatives such as this go a long way towards breaking down the barriers in employers’ minds regarding different disabilities; they showcase the diversity of candidates and bring to light disabilities that are often invisible. It is an excellent way of raising awareness about disability and career transition. It allows us to focus on skills rather than limitations.
Gaby Wagner, Deputy Director of ADEM
ADEM would like to thank all the participating companies for their commitment to an increasingly inclusive labour market and their dedication to promoting equal opportunities.
