The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 15,232 as of 30 November 2021. Compared to November 2020, this is a decrease of 2,927 people or 16.1%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.3%, i.e. below its pre-crisis level.
The number of jobseekers registered for at least 12 months fell by 12.4% over one year. Nevertheless, they still represent 51% of available resident jobseekers.
The number of new registrations with ADEM remains very low. In November 2021, 2,260 residents registered with ADEM, a decrease of 200 people or 8.1% compared to November 2020. Thus, the number of registrations is around the level seen in 2017 and 2018.
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit fell by 2,016 or 20.9% year-on-year to 7,615. The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stands at 4,420 and is above the level observed in November 2020 (+308 persons, or 7.5%).
The number of job vacancies reported to ADEM is very high. In November 2021, Luxembourg employers reported 3,527 vacancies to ADEM, an increase of 38.9% compared to November 2020. The momentum observed in recent months has thus continued and the number of available positions stands at 10,452. The increase over one year is 59.2%.
