The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 13,946 as of 31 May 2022. Compared to May 2021, this is a decrease of 3,394 people or 19.6%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 4.6%.
The number of jobseekers is down for all categories of jobseekers, except for jobseekers with less than 4 months of registration, which is up by 6%.
The number of new registrations is on the rise again. In fact, 2,140 residents registered with ADEM during May 2022, an increase of 259 people or 13.8% compared to May 2021. It should be noted that this month's new registrations include 205 registrations of beneficiaries of temporary protection (refugees from Ukraine).
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit fell by 2,148 or 23.7% year-on-year to 6,925. The number of people receiving a measure stands at 4,531 and is slightly below the level observed in May 2021 (-31 people, or 0.7%).
During May 2022, employers reported 4,812 job openings to ADEM, an increase of 21.5% compared to May 2021. The number of available positions stands at 13,253 as of May 31, 2022, a new all-time high. The increase over one year is 49.5%.
