The "Jobs4Solidarity" project, led by ADEM, helps young jobseekers up to the age of 30 to work in solidarity-based jobs, mainly on a cross-border basis, but also at national level. It is part of the European initiative "European Solidarity Corps" launched in 2016 by the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, during his annual State of the Union address.
Jobs4Solidarity offers easily accessible opportunities for young people who wish to engage in solidarity activities, preferably in a Member State other than their country of residence. The paid jobs offered can last between 3 and 12 months.
Young participants receive adequate prior preparation, on-the-job training and support on their return. Special accompanying measures will be put in place for young people with fewer opportunities, allowing easy access to suitable employment in a supportive environment.
The main objective of the project is to promote solidarity as one of the main pillars of social inclusion and European cooperation. Young people will be able to broaden their horizons through European mobility and gain valuable experience and soft skills through their engagement in active citizenship. This will increase their employability and facilitate the transition to the labour market.
Young jobseekers will benefit from personalised assistance from specially trained ADEM youth advisers who are familiar with the principles, rules and tools defined by the European Solidarity Corps. This project is an integral part of the Luxembourg Youth Guarantee and complements the activities of the Luxembourg National Youth Service (SNJ), which offers opportunities for volunteering within the European Solidarity Corps.
