The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM on 28 February 2023 was 15,650, an increase of 310 people (or 2.0%) compared to February 2022. The number of registered jobseekers is increasing for all registration durations except for those with a registration duration of more than 12 months.
Compared to last month, the number of resident jobseekers is down by 151 people (or -1.0%).
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC stands at 4.8%, slightly lower than in the previous month (4.9%).
The number of new jobseeker registrations is on the rise. In fact, 2,294 residents registered with ADEM in February 2023, an increase of 446 people or 24.1% compared to February 2022. It should be noted that this month's new registrations include 67 registrations of beneficiaries of temporary protection (refugees from Ukraine).
The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit rose by 538 people or 7.1% year-on-year to 8,093 beneficiaries. The number of participants in an employment measure stands at 4,265 and is below the level observed in February 2022 (-73 people, or -1.7%).
During February 2023, employers reported 3,389 job vacancies to ADEM, a decrease of 3.4% compared to February 2022. The total number of available jobs stands at 11,271 as of February 28, 2023. Compared to last year, this is an increase of 2.2%.
