Each employee is entitled to a minimum of 25 paid holidays per year. However, in a collective agreement or individual agreement between the employer and the employee, additional leave may be provided.
In addition to paid leave, the employee may apply for:
- Sick leave
- Leave for personal reasons (special leave),
- Pregnancy and maternity leave,
- Adoption leave,
- Leave for family reasons,
- Family hospice leave for nursing a dying or seriously ill person,
- Individual training leave,
- Linguistic leave,
- Training leave for staff representatives,
- Political leave for elected communal representatives,
- Social mandate leave,
- Sporting leave
- Special leave for volunteers of emergency services
- Development cooperation leave,
- Leave for youth workers,
- Job search leave.
An employee working part-time (including part-time parental leave) shall be entitled to annual leave calculated on a pro rata basis according to his or her weekly working time.
An employee on full-time parental leave does not accumulate vacation leave during this period.
