Inscription auprès de l’ADEM des réfugiés en provenance d’Ukraine
Le Gouvernement a pris la décision que les réfugiés qui bénéficient de la protection temporaire pourront s’inscrire sans délai auprès de l’ADEM. Le statut de protection temporaire, qui a été agréé au niveau européen, sera accessible aux ressortissants ukrainiens qui sont arrivés ces derniers jours au Luxembourg et aux nouveaux arrivants.

Access to the Luxembourg labour market for refugees from Ukraine
The EU member states have decided that refugees from Ukraine do not have to go through an asylum procedure and will directly receive temporary protection. For refugees coming to Luxembourg, this means that they do not need a special work permit and are immediately available for the labour market.

The unemployment rate falls to 4.9%
The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 15 470 as on 31 January 2022. Compared to January 2021, this represents a decrease of 4 412 people or 22.2%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 4.9%

Jobseeker registration with ADEM now also possible online
Jobseekers can now register with ADEM via the MyGuichet platform. ADEM is thus continuing the digitalisation of its services and at the same time offering an administrative simplification for jobseekers.

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 16,403 as on 31 December 2021. Compared to December 2020, this represents a decrease of 3,515 people or 17.6%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.2%, i.e. at the level it was at the beginning of 2019.

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 15,232 as of 30 November 2021. Compared to November 2020, this is a decrease of 2,927 people or 16.1%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.3%, i.e. below its pre-crisis level.

The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM was 15,417 as of 31 October 2021. Compared to October 2020, this is a decrease of 2,554 or 14.7%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.4% and has thus returned to the level it had between October 2019 and February 2020.

More than 10,000 job vacancies
The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stands at 15,641 as of September 30, 2021. Compared to September 2020, this is a decrease of 2,234 or 12.5%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC now stands at 5.5% and has herewith almost returned to its pre-crisis level.

Apprenticeship contracts can be concluded until 30 November 2021
The law of 15 October 2021 allows a temporary derogation to the deadline for concluding apprenticeship contracts. Indeed, the deadline of 1 November is postponed to 30 November for the year 2021
